Introduction

AgentShell (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is developed by Vijay Budhram. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS SSH client application (the “App”).

We are committed to protecting your privacy. AgentShell is designed with a privacy-first approach, storing your sensitive data locally on your device.

Information We Collect

Stored Locally on Your Device

  • SSH Connection Profiles - Server hostnames, ports, usernames, and connection settings
  • SSH Private Keys - Stored securely in the iOS Keychain with hardware encryption
  • SSH Host Keys - Trusted host fingerprints for TOFU (Trust On First Use) verification
  • App Preferences - Font size, theme settings, and other user preferences

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Collected by Third Parties

  • Crash Reports - We use Sentry for crash reporting to improve app stability. Crash reports include device type, iOS version, and stack traces. No personal data or SSH credentials are included.
  • Purchase Data - Apple processes all in-app purchases through the App Store. We receive transaction confirmations but not your payment details.

What We Do NOT Collect

  • Your SSH passwords or private key contents
  • Terminal session content or command history
  • Server data or files you access
  • Location data
  • Contact information
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Browsing or search history

How We Use Information

The limited information we receive is used to:

  • Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs
  • Verify subscription status for premium features
  • Improve the App's performance and reliability

Data Storage & Security

Your SSH keys and credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides:

  • Hardware-backed encryption on devices with Secure Enclave
  • Protection that requires device unlock to access
  • Optional Face ID or Touch ID protection
  • Data that stays on your device and is not backed up to iCloud

Connection profiles are stored using SwiftData with on-device encryption.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access - View all data stored by the App (available in Settings)
  • Delete - Remove any connection profile, SSH key, or all app data
  • Export - Copy your public keys for use elsewhere
  • Opt Out - Disable crash reporting in device settings

Since your data is stored locally, you have full control over it at all times.

Children's Privacy

AgentShell is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is designed for developers and IT professionals.

International Users

AgentShell is available worldwide. Since your data is stored locally on your device, it remains in your jurisdiction. Crash reports processed by Sentry may be stored on servers in the United States or European Union.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
